How to Make a Wrapped Loop
Follow these simple steps to create a wrapped loop.
Step 1
Slide your bead onto the headpin.
Step 2
About 1/8 inch above the bead, bend the wire to form a right angle.
Step 3
Hold the headpin at the bend using round-nose pliers, positioning the pliers vertically so one side of the pliers is above the wire and the other is below it.
Step 4
Using your finger, guide the wire up and over the top jaw of the pliers until the wire end points downward.
Step 5
Turn your round-nose pliers so they are horizontal, with one jaw inside the loop and the other outside.
Step 6
With your other hand, continue shaping the wire around the pliers until it lies flat and even.
Step 7
Keeping the pliers in place, coil the wire around the straight section beneath the loop about three times. You can do this by hand or with chain-nose pliers.
Step 8
Cut off any extra wire using side cutters (Direct the wire away from yourself). Use chain-nose pliers to press the wire end neatly into place.
Step 9
Your completed piece should resemble the example shown.
